Kids, if you like to write, the local chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution have a contest for you! All students in Hamilton County including public, private, parochial and homeschool are eligible to participate. Winners at the Chapter level will be eligible for entry into the State level and ultimately for the National level in Washington, D. In addition to the essay contests sponsored for students each year, we cooperate with the Scouts through the American Heritage Merit Badge program at Christian Waldschmidt Homestead. We participate in a multitude of patriotic endeavors which involve over 12, hours of volunteer time annually in the Veterans Administration hospitals and non-VA facilities.
We also offer support to active duty service personnel through care packages. We sponsor a variety of programs promoting the U.
